KURSEONG
At a height of 1458 metres lies Kurseong, a small pictresque town which was ceded to the British empire by the Chogyal Monarch of Sikkim in 1835. Also known as the land of the White Orchid, this elegant flower grows in plenty around Kurseong and is a perfect backdrop for the town's serene and unassuming demeanor.

Kurseong is placed just 30 kilometers from Darjeeling and enjoys a very moderate and pleasant climate. Surrounded by famous tea plantations and mountains, it is a heavenly getaway for those seeking solitude and tranquil bliss.

Concurring with the legacy of educational institutions in the Darjeeling District which are some of the finest in the entire country, Kurseong has renowned schools that were established during the Raj and after.
